Recently I decided, however, that I wanted to catch up on what I'd been missing. Natalie really likes the books and I thought it would be fun to be able to talk about them/watch the movies with her, so I decided to go ahead and re-read the first three and then read the last four for the first time. So, I sauntered through the first three--thoroughly enjoying them--and then ended up finishing the last four at a steadily increasing pace.
I just finished Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows yesterday! I could not ask for a better ending to the series. I highly recommend that anyone who has been as stubborn as I have get over their pride and read these books! They are some of my favorites of all time, and, actually really well written (sorry Twitlight).

Oh how very happy this post makes my heart. :) WE NEED TO TALK ABOUT THEM! Dan always jokes that I married him contingent on his promise to read them. I say that's not true, but, well, we all know I'm a bad liar.
We're almost done with the 6th one now, so I'm excited to reread the 7th. I'm so glad you loved the ending as much as I did; I've heard too many people complain about how the 7th was boring and they didn't like the end, but hoo boy, how I adored it. And I wholeheartedly agree that Rowling's writing is about 8,000 times better than that of dear Stephenie.
I should re-read them. They are so fun.
YES!!!!!!!! Does this mean you will go with us to the midnight showing of The Half Blood Prince (in costume)? ... I left that last part in parentheses because I thought I might be pushing my luck a little...
YYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYEEEAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!!!!1
True, true! Though I have to admit that Twilight is still a good indulgence every once in a while. But Harry is definitely far superior!
I just finished a few days ago too!
